What is PolyGel?

Updated: Nov 20, 2019

You may be asking yourself, "What is Polygel"? Serenity Studio is currently the only salon in this area that offers this amazing product! It is the latest in nail enhancement. Polygel is basically the same as acrylic, but in gel form. You may be thinking, "But isn't that what dip is"? It's very different from dip.

Polygel comes out of the tube as a solid gel, and a liquid called Slip Solution is added to break the Polygel down just enough so that it can easily be formed and sculpted to the shape you're looking for. Then with a UV or LED light, the Polygel cures, solidifying into a strong and durable nail.

But what makes this new type of nail enhancement stand out from the rest? Unlike acrylics and dips, Polygels are lightweight so they feel natural. They're less damaging to your natural nail and they're flexible. Because it's made with a special product, it is odorless and does not need ventilation - it's completely safe to be around and to use! Like acrylics, Polygels last up to 2-3 weeks before needing to get any fill-in maintenance, and they're meant for all nail types. Much like other nail enhancements, you can do anything with Polygels -natural, French manicure, ombre, marbled with or without glitter, inlay - the possibilities are endless!

I am professionally trained with Polygel nails, and would love to introduce you to the beautiful world of nails! If you're interested in taking a break from acrylics and want to try Polygel, the safe and healthier alternative, or if you've never really had nail enhancements before and you want to give it a try, call Serenity Studio at (240) 500-0679 and book an appointment with Crystal! We're always looking for nail models, so if you choose to do that you'll get a special discount. I will be more than happy to set you up with your very first set of Polygels!
